An establishment certified with “Confirmed Quality of Care”
The certification of healthcare establishments is an external and independent evaluation of the facility. It covers the entire organization and practices of the establishment. Regulatory texts govern the system, and the competent authority responsible for overseeing certification requests is the French National Authority for Health (Haute Autorité de Santé, HAS). The objectives of certification are to improve the quality of care in healthcare establishments and to provide the public with information about the level of services delivered. It aims to promote better organization of the facility in service of the patient and to foster a policy of continuous quality improvement and risk management within establishments. To do this, HAS relies on specific criteria to assess the structures, operations, and results of establishments in terms of safety, quality of care, and patient satisfaction.
In 2021, the University Hospital of Clermont-Ferrand was certified by the Haute Autorité de Santé (HAS) for the next four years.
You can find all the reports concerning the University Hospital on the HAS website: (www.has-sante.fr) under the “Accreditation & Certification” section.
Quality and safety indicators
Healthcare professionals are required to analyze their practices, referring to guidelines and using methods established by the French National Authority for Health (Haute Autorité de Santé, HAS). Furthermore, an internal committee at the University Hospital coordinates the various committees and commissions involved in quality, safety, and risk management initiatives. It also oversees the monitoring of the different certifications undertaken within the establishment.
