Continuing education

For CHU professionals

Continuing training for non-medical staff and midwives at the CHU is managed by the Recruitment, Training and Professional Mobility Department within the Human Resources Directorate.

In 2020, more than 2,700 staff members were able to take part in training, representing a total of nearly 170,000 training hours.

Training schemes are being adapted in order to continue supporting professionals as effectively as possible. The training courses offered are innovative both in their format—making more frequent use of digital tools—and in their content, with the introduction of new topics. Their aim is to best meet the needs of the institution’s professionals and the activities of its departments.

Each year, a training plan is updated based on collaborative work carried out with the institution’s divisions and the various functional departments.

The Training Center for Healthcare Professionals in Auvergne

Founded in 1998, the Training Center for Healthcare Professionals (CFPS) is a training organization of the Clermont-Ferrand University Hospital (CHU). It positions itself as a key partner for healthcare professionals in the health, social and medico-social sectors in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

The CFPS supports medical and non-medical healthcare professionals (public sector staff, private sector employees and self-employed professionals) in developing their skills and improving their professional practices.

Each year, the organization contributes to the training needs of more than 2,000 trainees and works with nearly 350 trainers, the majority of whom work within CHU departments.

The CFPS produces a training catalogue bringing together more than 180 courses, organized around the following thematic areas:

  • Improving healthcare practices
  • Emergency Care Training Center 63
  • Hygiene, prevention, quality and safety
  • Relationships, management and communication
  • Competitive examinations, job adaptation and placements
  • New offerings

Training offers are updated each year to ensure optimal adaptation to changes in the regulatory framework, as well as increasingly close alignment with the expectations of trained professionals, based on evaluations of the training sessions carried out.

In addition to the overall offer listed in the catalogue, certain programs can be organized on a “tailor-made” basis within institutions, providing an opportunity to bring teams together and fully involve them in projects.

The CFPS is authorized to provide Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programs and is registered with the National Agency for Continuing Professional Development. The CFPS is also listed on the DATADOCK platform. The CFPS has additionally been certified under the national quality certification “Qualiopi” since 2020.
