As the support institution of the GHT, the Clermont-Ferrand University Hospital (CHU) performs several functions and exemplifies the goal of pooling resources pursued by the GHT. These include:

	The strategy, optimization, and joint management of a territorial medical information system, particularly the implementation of an Electronic Patient Record (DPI) to ensure coordinated patient care across the institutions within the group.

	The management of a medical information department.

	The purchasing function.

	The coordination of training institutes and schools.

	The management of shared medical teams, the establishment of inter-institutional centers of expertise, as well as administrative, technical, and medico-technical activities.
