Faces of the Operating Room: A Portrait Series to Better Understand the Hospital

The Clermont-Ferrand University Hospital (CHU) is launching a unique poster campaign across its facilities, titled 'Faces of the Operating Room', to highlight the professions that work every day at the heart of the operating theatre.

This campaign features pairs of professionals from various fields — perioperative nurses (IBODE), nurse anesthetists (IADE), anesthesiologist-intensivists, surgeons, nurses, stretcher-bearers, healthcare managers, hospital service agents, nursing assistants, medical administrative assistants, and trainers — through a series of photographic portraits accompanied by slogans and texts that highlight their roles.

One team, complementary expertise

Because every surgical procedure relies on a coordinated chain of skills, this campaign highlights the diversity and complementarity of the professions that make quality and safety of care possible.

In the operating room, nothing is done alone. Every role matters, every action relies on another. It is this collective strength that we wanted to make visible, through faces and words.

Campaign Objectives

  • Highlight the professions within the operating room, which are often not visible to the general public
  • Promote the appeal of these professional fields
  • Recognize the daily commitment of hospital teams
  • Raise awareness of the human richness within the public hospital system

An Exhibition Displayed Across CHU Facilities

The portraits have been on display since July 25 on the fences surrounding the Gabriel-Montpied site, and will gradually be rolled out to other CHU locations. A digital component of the campaign is also being shared on social media and the CHU’s website.
