For the third time, the university hospital (CHU) is organizing an after-work event dedicated to nursing students to introduce them to careers in the operating room. The event will take place on Thursday, April 23, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Second- and third-year students will have the opportunity to dive into the world of the operating room through hands-on, immersive workshops led by healthcare professionals.
Program:
- Suturing
- Surgical assistance in laparoscopic surgery
- Perioperative anesthesia
- Surgical gowning and gloving
- Surgical draping
- Intubation
- Ventilation, recovery, and post-operative monitoring
The after-work event will conclude with a dedicated discussion session with professionals from the field, giving students the opportunity to ask questions and explore career prospects.
The State-Certified Operating Room Nurse (IBODE) is a surgical specialist who assists the surgeon before, during, and after procedures, ensuring patient safety and maintaining strict aseptic conditions in the operating room. They may also perform certain procedures under medical delegation.
The State-Certified Nurse Anesthetist (IADE) is an expert in anesthesia and critical care. They work closely with the anesthesiologist to prepare, monitor, and support the patient throughout the entire procedure.
The objective of this after-work event is clear: to inspire vocations and encourage students to continue their training toward these key specializations within the operating room.
