Organization and governance

Annual seminar of the GCS HOURAA: The cooperation of the 4 university hospitals of Auvergne–Rhône-Alpes in action.

The annual GCS HOURAA seminar, held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Grenoble University Hospital, brought together more than sixty participants — representatives of the CHU governing bodies, professionals involved in the group’s projects, and institutional partners.

A shared ambition: innovating together for healthcare in Auvergne–Rhône-Alpes.

The GCS HOURAA aims to strengthen cooperation between the university hospitals (CHU) of the region in order to support innovation, research, data sharing, and the transformation of medical and hospital practices.

The 2025 edition provided an opportunity to discuss:

GCS in action

  • The power of health data, from sharing to innovation – At the heart of the D2H (DataHubHouraa) rollout, which interconnects the four health data warehouses of each CHU; project update and presentation of the projects selected by the Ministry of Health under the DAtAE call for proposals.
  • The digitisation of anatomical and cytopathology services, carried out by the teams of the four CHUs.

Targeted internal radiotherapy: a focused revolution

An innovative therapeutic approach bringing together medical oncology, nuclear medicine, and radiopharmacy.

Value‑Based Health Care – measuring value in healthcare: treating, measuring, transforming

Presentation by Dr Virginie Luce‑Garnier, Director of VBHC at AP‑HP and President of the French Society for Value in Health.

A seminar driven by collective momentum and strategic vision.

The afternoon opened with remarks from Raymond LE MOIGN, Administrator of the GCS HOURAA and Director General of the Hospices Civils de Lyon, and from Cécile BEHAGHEL, Director of Healthcare Provision at the Regional Health Agency (ARS) Auvergne–Rhône-Alpes.

The seminar is a key moment for collective mobilisation. Beyond scientific and technical discussions, this event illustrates the ability of the CHUs to work together to build a healthcare system that meets the needs of the region’s population.

A big thank you to the speakers and all participants for this enriching day. Together, we are shaping the future of healthcare in our region.

The future also lies in technological leadership serving the transformation of the healthcare system. The cooperation between our four university hospitals is a promise in an ever‑evolving environment.

A renewed commitment in the momentum of past meetings

The previous edition in 2024, themed “Inter‑CHU collaboration: staying one step ahead”, helped initiate a reflection to define the strategic priorities of the 2025–2028 roadmap, enriched by the insights and contributions of experts and regional partners. The seminar concluded with the signing of the D2H consortium agreement, marking the launch of the Regional Health Data Hub — a flagship project that strengthens our leadership in digital health.

A big thank you to the Auvergne‑Rhône‑Alpes Region and to all participants for this insightful and productive day. Together, we are building the future of healthcare in our region.
